Step by step
- 1 Open the video on YouTube and copy its link from the address bar, or use Share → Copy link. Shorts links work too.
- 2 Paste the link into the box above.
- 3 Set Max Comments (up to 5,000), choose Top (Popular) or Newest, and leave "Include reply trees" on if you want replies.
- 4 Pick XLSX as the export format and click Extract Comments.
- 5 Check the preview on the page, then click Download File to save it.
What's in the Excel file
The Comments sheet has one row per comment and per reply, with these columns:

Working with the comments in Excel
- Turn on Data → Filter to sort by likes or date, or to show only top-level comments (is_reply = no).
- Use a text filter (Text Filters → Contains) on the text column to find every comment that mentions a word.
- The header row is already frozen, so it stays visible while you scroll.
Prefer CSV?
Choose CSV instead of XLSX for other tools. The CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel on Windows shows emoji and non-English comments correctly when you open it.
Limits
- Up to 5,000 comments per export. On very large threads you may get fewer, because each export has a time limit.
- Public videos only. If the uploader turned comments off, there is nothing to export.
- Your file is deleted from our server after about two hours.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Google account or an API key?
No. Paste the link and download — there's nothing to sign up for.
Does the export include replies?
Yes, when "Include reply trees" is on. Each reply is its own row with is_reply = yes and the parent comment's author in parent_author.
How many comments can I export?
Up to 5,000 per export. Very large threads can return fewer within the export's time limit.
Can I export comments from someone else's video?
Yes — any public comments on a public video. Private videos and videos with comments turned off can't be exported.
