Privacy Policy

ClipComments is a free tool for downloading videos and exporting public comments from social media platforms. This policy explains what we do and don't collect.

No account, no sign-up

You don't create an account or log in to use ClipComments. We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal profile.

Links and files

When you submit a URL, we fetch the requested content and generate a file (a video, or a comment export in CSV/Excel/JSON). These files, and the task that produced them, are stored only long enough to deliver your download and are automatically deleted within about two hours. We do not keep a permanent record of the URLs you submit.

Comment data

Comment exports contain public comments as published on the source platform. We process them only to build your export and do not retain them after the file is deleted. When the optional AI "Highlights" summary is enabled, the comment text of your export is sent to our AI provider solely to generate that summary; it is not used to train models and is not retained by us.

Server logs and infrastructure

Like any website, our servers and our CDN (Cloudflare) keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) to operate the service, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits. We do not sell this data or use it to build advertising profiles.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages people find useful. It is privacy-first by design: it sets no cookies, uses no browser fingerprinting or cross-site identifiers, and does not follow you to other websites. We cannot use it to identify you individually.

We also keep an anonymous count of completed jobs so we know which parts of the site are actually used: the platform, the export format, how many comments were exported, whether it succeeded, how long it took, and — if you arrived from a campaign link — the campaign tag and the host of the referring site. This record contains no IP address, no browser fingerprint, no account, and not the URL you submitted. It cannot be traced back to you.

Cookies

We use only functional storage — for example, remembering your light/dark theme preference in your browser. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
